What is your refund
&/or
cancellation policy?

To cancel or reschedule an appointment,
please call (313) 405-7114
When a member schedules a session with us, a block of time is reserved specifically for that member. Time is valuable for both us and our members. Therefore, 24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session.

Should a 24-hour cancellation or rescheduling notice not be given, that session will be deducted from the member’s package of purchased sessions. As a courtesy to our members & because we realize emergencies do occur, members may cancel or reschedule a session up to 4 times per year outside the 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy by giving us a minimum 3-hour notice. If a member chooses to use this option and gives at least a 3-hour notice, that session will not be deducted from the member’s package of purchased sessions. However, a cancelled or rescheduled session will still be deducted from the member’s package of purchased sessions if less than a 3-hour notice is given in any case. Similarly, this policy applies to our staff. Should a situation arise when we have to cancel or reschedule a session with a member, we will do our best to provide the member with 24-hour notice. If we cannot provide 24-hour notice, we will not deduct that session from the member'’s package of purchased sessions.

• All Cancellations must be made 24 hours before your session.
• We can reschedule your missed session, but have to do so within a 7 day period, & at a time which suits trainer.
• If cancelled after 24 hours, a cancellation fee of $30 will be added
• No refunds on “no shows”
• All purchases are Non-Refundable & Non-Transferable

What is yoga therapy?

Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific application of yogic tools -postures/exercises, breathwork, meditation techniques, & more to address an individual's physical, mental, and emotional needs. Many people first learn about yoga through its physical practices, but a common misconception is that the discipline is all about stretching or movement. In fact, yoga therapy can help people who can't move at all, as well as active individuals! The yogic model of health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than considering each body part or system separately.

What is the difference between yoga class & a yoga therapy session?

Yoga Class is Body Maintenance & Yoga Therapy is Holistic Body Rehabilitation
A general public yoga class can certainly ease everyday aches, pains, and mood complaints. But a yoga therapy session goes much further because it is completely tailored to the individual. IAYT® certified yoga therapists have in-depth training. This training helps me, as a practitioner, assess and keep you safe and allows me to interact with your other healthcare professionals effectively. Yes, yoga therapy can complement your usual healthcare!

Yoga Class is Generalized & Yoga Therapy is Personalized
In yoga class, all participants do the same movements, the same poses, and meditate at the same time. Yoga therapy adapts yoga to the individual and uses it in a way that addresses ongoing health problems.

Yoga Class is Emotional Release & Yoga Therapy is Emotional Healing
Yoga therapy offers relief on the physical level, while illuminating the psychology behind the pain.

What’s the difference between a Yoga Instructor
& a Yoga Therapist?

Yoga instructors & Yoga Therapists are trained differently.

Becoming a recreational yoga instructor involves a vast amount of physical knowledge, yoga know-how, and a minimum of 200 hours of experience.

Yoga therapists are trained holistically, with some medical knowledge. Yoga therapists often have a deep understanding of Ayurveda, the traditional Hindu system of medicine based on the idea of balance in bodily systems utilizing diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing.

How Does Yoga Therapy Work?

Although yoga has been practiced in some form for millennia, we are just beginning to understand these mechanisms from a Western scientific perspective. A tool applied in one area say, a breathing practice, can profoundly affect a completely different area of the body or the mind. Researchers think this works partly because of yoga's ability to regulate the nervous system and possibly to affect the way the brain processes information. Another reason yoga therapy works so well is that it's not a treatment done to a patient- yoga therapists instead empower clients to tap into their own innate healing capabilities.

What Conditions Can Yoga Therapy Help?

Yoga therapy is a safe way of working with the natural capacity of your body and mind to optimize well-being. Because yoga itself offers tools that touch on the whole spectrum of human experience, yoga therapy can offer support for a range of concerns:
• Pain from various sources
• Major illnesses
• Neurologic issues
• Healthy aging

• Mental health
• Death & dying
Yoga therapy can also support people who are dealing with stress, and those who simply want to increase their overall well-being.
